Our Leadership
The leadership team at Men’s Renew Discipleship Ministry is committed to walking alongside men through every stage of restoration, discipleship, and spiritual growth. Rooted in biblical truth and centered on the Gospel, the team serves with a heart for accountability, mentorship, and authentic community. Through hands-on discipleship, daily guidance, and Christ-centered leadership, they help men rebuild their lives, strengthen their faith, and develop practical life skills that lead to lasting transformation. From the quiet work at Farm 58 to the transition back into everyday life through Downtown Renew, the leadership team is dedicated to creating an environment where men can encounter God, find healing, and grow into the husbands, fathers, leaders, and disciples they were created to be.
Renew Leadership
Donovan Coughlin
Donovan was raised on a tiny island in the South Pacific called Kwajalein in a military family. During his childhood and teenage years, his family moved all over the United States before settling in South Florida. In 2006 at the age of 27, after a dark struggle with addiction for many years, Donovan went through a Christian discipleship ministry in South Florida. For the next seven years, he served at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale where he met his wife, Katie. In 2013, Donovan was called to Chattanooga when Renew was given the farm property in Dunlap, TN that is now Farm 58. He was directly responsible for the vision and planning to transform the farm from a 200-acre wooded lot into the beautiful, organic discipleship farm that it is today. Donovan lived on property at the farm from 2013 until 2023, when his role changed from Farm Director to Director of Renew (farm and downtown locations). He oversees all discipleship, programming and operations for the ministry, and he led Renew to transition from a single church ministry into a standalone non-profit in late 2024. Donovan and Katie have a daughter, Jordan, and they attend Calvary Chapel in Chattanooga, TN.
Executive DirectorRyan Scafe
Ryan was raised in a Christian home and a strong church on Signal Mtn., TN. He graduated from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a BS in Political Science and continued his education with an MBA from Bryan College. In his early adult years, Ryan became hooked on opioids after suffering an injury. For the next 11 years, his life was marked by brokenness in addiction. Ryan made the decision to enter Renew in October of 2019 after a near death experience, and the Lord began working at that time to transform his life, restore his marriage and family, and give Ryan another chance in life. He worked in the logistics industry in Chattanooga for most of his career until being called to join Renew as Director of Community Relations in 2024 to oversee fundraising and relationship building as Renew was preparing to launch as a non-profit. Ryan is married to his wife, Kimberly, and they have five children: Christian, Tori, Zeke, Alaina and Knox. Ryan and his family attend The Point Church on Signal Mtn., TN.
Director of Community Relations
Billy Cimino
Billy was raised in South Florida and was saved at the age of 29. Shortly after being saved, Billy joined the staff at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale as a ministry assistant. He later met his wife, Bethany, and they were called to Chattanooga, TN to Calvary Chapel Chattanooga. Billy served at Calvary Chapel for 20 years in children's ministry and biblical guidance. In 2022, Billy entered Renew after a season of life where ministry became an idol and his marriage and family suffered. The Lord used Renew to restore his marriage and begin to heal Billy from childhood trauma that contributed to his struggles in ministry. After completing Renew, Billy was called on staff as Director of Discipleship to oversee biblical guidance with the men of Renew and serve the families of the men during their time in Renew. His gifts in counseling and pastoral care serve the men and families of Renew well especially since he has the unique perspective of ministering and being ministered to through Renew Ministries. Billy and Bethany have two children, Gianni and Adeline, and they attend Calvary Chapel in Chattanooga, TN.
